Position Overview:
 

TELUS is searching for a dynamic, forward-thinking, creative Director of Real Estate Facility Services. The successful candidate must possess strong leadership skills, advanced program management capabilities, attention to detail and strong operational discipline.


Responsibilities:

The Director – Real Estate Facility Services oversees building operations and capital projects in TELUS’ administrative facilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of real estate professionals
  • Delivering various move and consolidation projects to support the TELUS team in our facilities

  • Liaising with landlords and key external partners in the management of our buildings

  • Proactively enacting plans to optimize utilization of real estate assets

  • Develop, recommend, implement continuous improvement opportunities to reduce cost and improve effectiveness of capital and operating expenditures

  • Lead the development and implementation of new or revised Real Estate policies, guidelines, processes and procedures to ensure meeting organizational requirements and compliancy while fostering TELUS’ future friendly brand

  • Ensuring appropriate control measures and project management discipline are applied across all projects

  • Presenting strategies and operational performance updates to senior management

 
Qualifications

  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management
  • Knowledge of environmental, security and risk factors
  • Strategic, business and political acumen

Required/Preferred Professional Designation/Certifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Professional Real Estate designation or certification (BOMA, IFMA, CoreNet, etc)
  • Professional Project Management certification

 Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years in commercial real estate and property management

  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience developing and executing large-scale projects

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated history of leading large-scale project & process improvement change initiatives

  • Minimum of 5-7 years successfully leading high performance teams
