ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGER
You are an analytical thinker with a strong background in the functions of an Accounts Payable department, and your goal is to lead an accurate and efficient Accounts Payable team. Reporting to the Manager, Financial Operations, you are responsible for managing and coordinating the Accounts Payable department staff through employee recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management. You maintain a high level of departmental proficiency through setting performance objectives and establishing standards and priorities, including developing and administering the departmental operating budget. You identify emerging trends and legislation and ensure all transactions and accounting meets BC Ferries accounting standards and policies.
You are an effective communicator with a high level of self-motivation and initiative. You have a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under the pressure of tight deadlines. Your enthusiasm for your team’s success is apparent in your ability to lead, mentor and manage performance.
You bring 5 years of comprehensive experience in a finance or accounting department along with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in an accounts payable department and unionized environment. You have a professional accounting designation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
